It's Monday where I live and that means it's time to start the week off with something positive! I'm determined to get out of this emotional slump and get back on track. I've had my pity party about being laid off, and now it's time to talk about someone else who is talented and fun to be around~

Meet Milly! A fox-deer hybrid from Washington state. She sat down and took my little survey, so please read all about her below. She is very nice and also currently open for commissions! All of her links are located at the end of the survey.

How long have you been drawing in the general sense?

I've been drawing for as long as I can remember, starting with chibis and anime style doodles in sketchbooks during school.

How long have you been doing digital art?

I started making digital art on DeviantArt when I was about 12 or 13 with pixel art bases. I then began making bases for other people to use. I made so much cringey art back then it's almost hard to think about, but I keep it all locked away in a folder on my computer for posterity anyway. I started drawing furries in 2016 when my would-be-boyfriend introduced me to them!

What was your first digital art tablet? What was good about it, what was bad?

My first art tablet was a little cheap floppy thing, I can't even remember the brand that it was, but it was about 8 or 9 inches if I recall correctly. It was good to get into digital art, but learning how to not be able to look at my hand while drawing was definitely a difficult transition from sketchbooks.

Do you consider yourself a furry? Or do you just enjoy the Anthro community for the art and characters?

I do consider myself a furry! Not really in the therian/otherkin sort of sense, but in a "I'm in the furry community" kind of way! I'm not so much interested in fursuiting but 100% the art and character side of the fandom.

What brought you to the Anthro community?

Like I mentioned previously, my boyfriend introduced me to furries in 2016. Before he'd shown me what it's like to actually be involved in the community, I had sort of a bad reputation in my head about furries (mostly due to unfair judgement toward them from outside online areas). He showed me some really good artists and characters and slowly converted me.

Who is your favorite artist? What do you admire about them?

It's hard for me to pin down a favorite artist since I like so many different artists for different reasons. I love Siroc's curvy ladies, Carrot's cute critters, FluffKevlar's crisp and clean anime style, Demicoeur's painterly ways, Glacierclear's bodies, etc. There's so much good art to go around!

If you could give one piece of advice to new artists, what would it be?

Study, study, study! And consume so much art. It can be really easy to look at all of the artists you're inspired by and be overwhelmed by the level of skill or speed, but they all went through the exact same thing at some point! Improvement comes through dedicated time for learning and practice.

What are your art goals?

My art goals are to just keep improving! I have a ton of ideas in my head that I'm going to try to get out as time goes on, some just for fun and some more ambitious. Stay tuned!

If you could master any art skill overnight, what would it be?

Backgrounds. The bane of my existence. Basically anything that involves painting is a huge challenge for me and I'd love to learn more.

Tell me a little known fact about yourself!

I suppose a little known fact about myself is that I really love to sing! I've recently learned about VR chat karaoke rooms and have been trying to muster the courage to participate in one some day. I have terrible stage fright so trying to get me to sing in front of others is going to be yet another hurdle to get over.
